My passion is hand-dyeing silk and cotton fabrics, creating a textile that is then nuno-felted or felted.
Nuno felt is a technique that allows the artist to take a dyed fabric and allow other textile materials such as wool and silk to adhere to the fabric. This process is done with water, soap and manipulating the fabric.
All items are locally made by Debra Meyer Scott(DebsThreadsDesigns) in Alabama. I am a juried artist, member of The Alabama Designer Craftsmen Guild(ADC) and the Alabama state representative
for Handweavers Guild of America(HGA), (weavespindye.org) an international fiber organization that supports textile artists.
I am also a member The Greater Birmingham Fiber Guild in Birmingham, Alabama.
